I just watched 12 M. for the first time, all the way through. Is the reason that IMDB describes it as a black comedy because Pitt's performance is so clownish and exaggerated? Was he not directed!? I don't think he was at this undeserved exalted place in pop. culture at the time, so why didn't they fire him after the first few dailies? He's just awful and distracting in every scene.
I was never a Brad Pitt hater, but his performance in Seven was bad, too. I also saw him in an earlier obscure flick and he was terrible there as well. 12 M would have been a much better movie, and possibly a cult classic, without him in that key role. Brad must've been a pool boy for some influential producer back in the day. He surely can't act.

He was awesome in Fight Club but that doesn't mean he didn't suck in this movie.

I partly agree I think Brad Pitt's great roles are the ones in which he plays characters which have serious mental problems that is why he is good in 12 Monkeys, Kalifornia, Fight Club and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Yeah, he must have slept with every member of the Academy to get his Oscar nomination for this film too. And every critic who praised his performance in Se7en. Yeah, everybody else is wrong, and you're right.

Brad Pitt was great in this, it seems that some people forget that this was his only Oscar Nom. He was also good in SE7EN, except the last 5 minutes are arguable. Either way he is brilliant.

Yeah, he definitely can't act. That's why he got an Oscar nomination and Golden Globe win for this role.

I just watched the making of video. Pitt spent a lot of time on the character. They hired a specialist who works with mental patients to coach Pitt on different traits that the character should have. They showed one of the coaching sessions and the specialist was telling Pitt to be more animated and move around even more than he was.

Brad Pitt is a good actor and he did a great job with the role. He was nominated for the Oscar and won a Golden Globe for the performance.

Are you fu cking retarded? His performance in this film is exceptional. His performance is strikingly similar to Heath Ledger's Joker (although not as good or terrifying). Bruce Willis was excellent in this film as well, but Brad Pitt outdid him. I suggest you look up the definition of good acting cuz Brad Pitt's performance in 12 Monkeys is it.

His performance in Jesse James is breathtaking as well for that matter.

Give us an example of who you think is a good actor then so we can compare.
