I didn't care for it too much either. It tried to be too many things. It was probably made as a SNL spinoff movie, which was what the stupid show was doing in the 90's, which was why it sucked so much back then.

I will find you and I will drop you like sack of cheap cement. You've been warned, punk.

I really start to lose faith in the future of mankind when I find out that there are people who don't find this classic movie funny. I consider myself a somewhat intelligent guy, but I can still sit down and watch a silly movie like this and truly enjoy it.

reply

Were you born in 47? Maybe the humor was different back then, this movie is outstanding comedy.

People who hate this movie probably just hate slapstick comdeys in general. I thought this movie was very funny!

Yeah, it sucked for me, too. I remember his Chippendale's performance from SNL, and he is a very funny performer, but this movie was just not funny enough for me to keep watching. I don't like the idea of making fun of a stupid and fat person. Just doesn't make sense to me. It looked promising when Lowe showed up so they could play off each other, but there was too much other junk in the way, including the generic yet over the top wedding, etc, etc.

Different strokes.

By the way, the Bo Derek coming out of the pool shot looked terrible. She has no hips and wide shoulders. I wondered if it was a man, but I see it was actually Bo Derek. Also, David Spade's characters are just annoying, never funny. He's like that pest in junior high that you wonder if they ever grew up. Again, different strokes.

reply

No way. Chris Farley would do anything for a laugh. And David Spade was the perfect sidekick for him.
