The funniest scene

What was the funniest scene to you? To me, the part where Tommy is sitting on a bench with Richard and he's complaining about how much life sucks and then the bench just collapses beneath him. I laughed so hard I was literally on the floor laughing. I have to rewind it multiple times when I watch it.

A definite toss-up between the "Superstar" sing-a-long and the swerving all over the road and escaping death by an inch.....

and

"Jo-Jo The Idiot Circus Boy" speech.
I still do that full dialogue for my family whenever buns or biscuits are served, LMAO... I'm a dork. A happy one though.

There are soooo many great scenes, though. SO MANY great one-liners. :-) Comedy classic. I think I can honestly say that no other movie has made me bellylaugh so much in my life.

reply

Jo Jo the idiot circus boy definitely for me! Loved that scene.

I'd say when Tommy's smashing the car in that office.

"Oh my God, we're burning alive!"

the scene where Tommy and Richard are dueling for the radio

"It doesn't hurt here or here but right here." "Jesus, what did you do to your face?" Lol the gigantic bruise from the 2X4 is freakin hilarious

reply

I'd have to go with the car singing scene, with Chris and David belting out "Superstar" with tears streaming down their faces. It reminded me of myself and some of my buddies belting out "Copa Cobana" at the top of our lungs with the windows down.

Then of course the puppet show, and the deer wrecking the car.

"That was... Awwwesome! But sorry about your car, Richard, that sucks."

reply

The whole 'cow tipping' part.

...GET OFF MY PROPERTY!
-I'll save you, brother!
-I'm ok! Get off me!
-I love you!
-These boots are Italian. They're worth more than your life!
-Oh, man, did i get dooshed with mud.
-Hey Chucko! That doesn't smell like mud.
-I'm a maniac, maniac...
-Did you eat a lot of paint chips as a kid?
-Haha...why?

"I don't like you, problably never will. you're a smug unhappy little man,& you talk to ppl as if they were idiots."

Omg omg omg when tommy is putting gas in the car and he has to back it up and he fu*ks up the door and then Richard comes back and opens the door and it breaks of and tommy says "whatcha do?"

I love every scene, but the one on the plane where they're doing their flight attendant schtick and Tommy started to suffocate because he chose a child-sized life preserver is just hilarious. When he chokes: "Can't breathe!" and starts whipping his head around, then he grabs that old lady's pen and deflates it - then he's standing there all slump shouldered with his hair messed up and Richard says dryly: "He's a big dumb animal, isn't he folks?" That just cracks me up every time. Fat guy in a little coat and the whole Spanky coversation are hysterical too.

My favourite scene was when they both reveal their closet love for 'Superstar' by The Carpenters.

"Don't cry, it is to be. In time, I'll take away your miseries and make 'em mine...D'Evils."

reply

The scene most stuck in my head is when Richard gets in the airplane toilet & gets changed in a flash and exits. The look on Tommy's face as he tries to work out how Richard changed so quickly is priceless!

I'm rather surprised that nobody mentioned this next one I'm about to post.

Richard having a little bit of naughty time with himself while Tommy is away...only to have him walk in on the end of it. Here's some of my favorite lines in that scene:

*Tommy the entire scene messing with Richard about spanking the monkey*

"Were you watching....SPANK-travision?"

..."Or was it that movie with what's his name....Buddy.....WACKIT?"

*sees girl from earlier skinny dipping in pool*

"Hey, theres a pretty looking girl out there...I wonder if she dates one of the YANKEES?"

***hours later, sleeping***

"Richard, who was your favorite Little Rascal: Alfalfa or SPANKY?"

*Richard turns to the other side of his bed in embarassment, Tommy realizes he's finally broken him about earlier and smiles*

"Sinner."

I love the scene when Tommy is talking about guarantees. He tells the customer "if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time."

It's on now and that's my favorite scene also.
