Time For A Sequel **Spoiler Alert**

This one is asking for a sequel. Jada is still around and I'm even going to say this could probably pass off as a TV series as well.

Jada's character could have HER night to fight, die and pass the key on to someone else...wham instant TV series and I think it would do well...well if it had good writers.

This is one of my favorite movies, I'm always sad at the end, because I want to see if she makes it to Paris

I think I read in an article once that the producers of the show never ruled out sequels, you know actual sequels. So at one time maybe there was an idea, just 'idea' for a Demon Knight 2.

reply

Yeah, but here's the problem with a sequel. Brayker was given the key on August 24, 1917 (funny how you remember the big dates, isn't it?). So it wasn't until 1995 that he fought and passed the key on. Therefore, if Jerryline received the key in 1995, it would have to be a futuristic film. And NOBODY wants a "Demon Knight in Space" film.

Brayker said that the time each Demon Knight possessed the key was different for each of them. So they could have a sequel with Jerryline only having the key for 20 or so years if they wanted to. If the signs lined up right, like they did for Brayker in the beginning of the film, then it would be time for the present Demon Knight to pass the key on to someone else.

I'm sorry, I said a futuristic Demon Knight would be a horrible idea, and your response was, yeah, but maybe it has only been 20 years?
That's still the future, chief. And a bad idea.

Specifically, you said no one wants a "'Demon Knight in Space' film", suggesting the distant future.

And though I happen to agree with you on that^ point chief, a sequel set in 2015 or so wouldn't have a futuristic feel to it at all. It could be written much in the same spirit as the first one. Because truthfully, 6 years from now, we're not going to be much more advanced than we are now. It's not like everyone will be running around with laser guns and jet packs.

And judging from this thread, as well as many of the other posts on this board, I think 99.9% of Demon Knight fans would like to see a sequel regardless of what time period it was set in. Whether you think it's a bad idea or not.

It doesn't have to be about her finding a successor (which I don't think anyone here is suggesting), just her current battle against The Collector. But in terms of medium, I say make a game. A light gun one that could use the Wii remote or PS3 gun (I don't know if 360 has anything similar). Who wouldn't love to shoot those things in the eyes?

I'm going to shove coal so far up your stocking you'll be coughing up diamonds!

Haha! But I thought that the Demon Knights only got into TWO fights, the one where they are chosen, and the one where they die.

Hmm, I thought they were always at each other. After all, she did seal off the bus. If she was totally safe, there'd be no need to do that.

I always chalked it up to fate. They, the demon and the demon knight, were always chasing each other, but when they ran into each other, bam! It's time to fight. Jerryline was paranoid, as we all would be, and she was being kind of wasteful with the blood. Brayker said it himself. "On THAT DAY, you'll fight." And the stars weren't lined up on her hand. So even if she hadn't put the blood down on the bus, she would have been okay.

yea I agree bring the sexy chicks back & make them demons!!!!

Well, they are releaseing The Lost Boys 2 after 21 years of nothing. So I wouldn't be surprised if they threw in a bid to make a sequel to this movie. Start a petition, send it to the producers!

Direct to DVD though right?

I suspect if this one earned a sequel it'd also be direct to DVD, which if done right wouldn't really be such a bad thing (though it's rarely ever done right)

I'd be okay with that, especially if the Crypt-Keeper came back.

The Lost Boys 2 sequel went straight to DVD; I think it's available now, or will be very soon.

I dont think i would watch it, unless Billy and Jada were in it.

reply

I think it'd be great but there's no way they could get Jada back.

Possible. For a sequel or series, they might need an whole new cast of characters. They probably couldn't even get Billy Zane, but I haven't seen him do much anyway.

reply

Why couldn't they get Jada back?

I'd even go so far as to say she'd love to do it. She could even do some of the sound track with her band or even have that written into the movie, that she's become a rock star and she dies and becomes a legend...just an idea. :)

reply

Also they wouldn't need the original cast seeing as they all died. They'd only need Billy and Jada..not even Billy really since there was a new Knight or incarnation of him at the end of the movie.

reply

and why? Because he died? No, *beep* me. Why dooes everyone here forget that?

I agree about the movie parts but I've heard her say many times that who she's married to has nothing to do with her own career. If it did she'd have used HIS fame long ago to push her metal band. And as it were not many people even know she has one. (And they are actually good, but that's my opinion, several people don't like her band)

I think perhaps with a good script she could be persuaded to do it and with better writers and a bigger budget..or if it were to be developed into a TV series with just being in the pilot and dying as in fighting HER last fight, I think it would work. I mean take a look at Buffy the Vampire Slayer..horrible movie, phenominal TV series that even spawned a very good spin off. So you just never know. Besides Hollywood loves doing remakes or taking something old and making it new..with this one it would be just picking up a story, getting us up to speed on the old character and then letting her go...hell she could even make cameos in flashbacks...There's just so many ways to go here.

it would have to use anamotronics and make up, not stupid CGI. if CGI was used i would not see it

It would be nice to see a sequel to this movie because I enjoyed the first one a lot. Like you said what concerns me is Hollywood wants to lower the ratings on movies to increase the box office attendance sales and we will see it so watered down that it would not be as good as the first movie at all.

Especially if I saw the sequel I would want to see the Party Girls come back. That was my favorite part of the first movie Tales From The Krypt Demon Knight!
