I bypassed it back in the day because Sharon Stone in a Western didn't interest me. Then I noticed the cast in the movie and thought I'd better check this out.

How does one go wrong with Gene Hackman. He plays his characters so well, especially his bad guys. Sharon Stone looked really pretty in her role, and DiCaprio was enjoyable as well. He really is a good actor. Plus I'm a big fan off Lance Henriksen, and David Keith is pretty cool too.

One of the better Westerns I've seen in a while.

I thought it was a terrific pastiche of Spaghetti Westerns, stylish, beautiful cinematography, and production design.

Nice ensemble cast. It would be pretty tough to assemble that entire cast today.

I liked the film when it first came out but, as I remember, the reviews slated it. I suspect that was more to do with the attitude towards Westerns at the time plus the scummy press doing thier usual build 'em up then chop 'em down routine.
