I thought Dreyfuss was awesome and deserved the oscar anyone else agree?

I didn't know he was nominated but I agree he gave an Oscar-worthy performance. I remain baffled at the relatively low imdb score of this film. It has stuck with me ever since I first saw it, all these years later. I also think the writer of the film, whoever it was, deserved accolades. He/she totally captured what it feels like to be a musician or music lover. It could only have been written and performed by people who knew that world intrinsically. The result is a movie that feels more authentic than just about any other music in this genre.

P.S. I think it was mountains better than Leaving Las Vegas.

Agreed - this should have won the Oscar. It's a perfect Oscar type movie too.
