Makes better sense with Robert Blake a secret villain?
The only reason for him being such a cartoony asshole was if he was behind the money train theft from earlier and was hoping to pin future robberies on the brothers.

Yeah exactly. Or have him in league with that mob boss guy who's actually beaten BEFORE the fucking robbery happens! The movie will still suck but at least it'd make some sense for his behavior. I know the buddy genre calls for a jerk boss type character but Blake was playing the most ott one note example I saw in years.
