Stunt guy hurt?????

I have been re-watching the one seen toward the begining where Nick Cage pulls the drunk guy out of the truck and throws him over his head into the other truck. I can not see how that stunt guy was not really injured. I see his head hit the ground and his neck bend in such a way that it could not be faked. I've run it in slow motion forward and back and can not see any way for him to have braced himself. What do YOU think?

reply

There were no reports of stuntmen being hurt on this Film. What you see is
a manikin. When you do the slow motion, there is a slight minimal pause where
the substitution in the recording itself is done. In these days Action and Cut are invisible to the film-goers eyes.

*beep* I've watched it like 30 times now, this was no "manikin" or mannequin. Dude got smashed in real life.

Chill man. No offense. Got mine from Cable on DVR from 537 Starz in Black. Could be between uploading and downloading my copy is cut for available time slot. Did Google Mike Russo and nothing came up about one of his stuntmen being hurt. Also Googled the stunts' from Bill Aragnos to Chuck Zito, nada.
You are probably right, no manikin, just a great stunt.

My friend and I were laughing at that. It had to be real.

Here's what it looked like to me: a stuntman, not a dummy, hooked up to strings and flown across, lands softer than it looks/sounds due to editing. The blood on his head is fake and was there before they shot the scene. He knows how to land (as someone said) so it looks like his head hits first, but it's actually his arms/hands.

Again, it's how it looked to me. I highly doubt Nic Cage actually threw a person 10 feet, they landed on their head and started bleeding, and they just kept rolling, haha...

"You didn't like this movie? Go watch [insert completely opposite movie] instead"

Your version sounds about right. Good analysis and set up.

i dont think they used strings, it was definately real stuntman, maybe "pavement" had slight cusion, these stuntmen get paid to take falls like that all the time and they know how to use their hands at the last second to break fall. They fall down stairs, off buildings etc, its probably not a big deal to one of those guys. did look pretty rough though and maybe it was a little more 'real' than he wouldve liked

1. It was not a Dummy, it was a stuntman. There was no cut in this scene.
2. Cage may not be strong enough to throw him, but I think the stuntman simply jumped. You can't see this, because he's in the truck. There were also no wires.
3. The stuntman first fell on his hands to protect his head. They know how to do their job. I don't think that he was seriously hurt.
