Ya know... i'm glad this movie happened.

First off, i've never been a hater. This was my introduction to Judge Dredd. And that's actually the point of my post. This movie introduced me to Judge Dredd. I never heard of the guy before. Since, i've deep dived into a mega swarm of material I still to this day can't make heads or tails of. But damn. I don't don't think that could have happened without the mighty Stallone at the wheel. The only thing they got really wrong, I think, is the dumb ass comedy sidekick. That was a mistake. It was making fun of itself. While introducing itself.

Diane Lane in that skin tight outfit was hardly terrible either

I barely remember this one which is odd because Stallone is one of my favorite stars. A very good version was made in 2012 starring Karl Urban as Dredd and Lena Headley as the boss villain. That was an awesome flick, lots of violent action, highly recommended if you enjoy action pictures.

I remember it more for the terrific performance of the villain Armand Assante. I love his work but he didn't do a lot that hit over here in the States.

reply

Assante îs a good actor. I particularly liked him in that John Gotti movie. He didn't much resemble Gotti but he had the swagger and presence of a Mob boss.

reply

You definitely wouldn't want to date his daughter.

reply

the 2012 movie is not that good like people claim it is

It's one of my go-to drinking movies. There's no story whatsoever. It's just gonzo violence. It's perfect for drunk brain. I love it dearly but at the end of the day, I can't say it's a good movie. It simply has no substance.

exactly what i thought. its just a dumb action movie. fun action movie but still feel very empty and cheap.
