'I got 320 Gigs up there'

It's sort of like that Fighter-pilot vs Helicopter pilot joke:

Flying is easy, a rock would probably fly if you made it go 180 knots. The real question is "How fast can you fly backward?"
-------------
Sure you can go out and buy a harddrive that can hold 320Gb, now shove it into your head together with a power-supply.

Light travels faster than sound,
that's why people seem bright,
until you hear them.

It is 2013 and the largest SD memory card as of September 2012 is 256 GB. We'll be far ahead of the 2021 prediction of 320 GB being the max (in the world of Johnny Mnemonic) for something that small. Not that off for a prediction especially since our flash memory isn't brain accessible.

EDIT - Today Kingston just announced a 1TB and 512 GB thumb drive. Now we have finally surpassed the size in Johnny Mnemonic...

It was stored in his head on some sort of drive that was wired neurologically to his brain. Up until VERY recently, storing 320 GB in an area small enough to fit in your skull without taking up too much space, would be impossible. Its still impossible to wire it neurologically into the brain(as of yet).

Now you can store 1 TB on a flash drive. Once they figure out how to wire it into your brain, THEN we will have caught up with the film's technology.

Even at the time HDDs in most PCs were about 500-2000mb so it wasnt all that impressive by standards of then.

By 2021 that will not amount to much at all

Boy it's hard to impress you guys!

Poor Johnny only had 90Gb capacity and used a doubler to increase that to 180Gb. Those traitors filled his wet-wired drive with twice that! You just try to shove 320Gb of information on your 100Gb hard drive and see where that gets you!

Johnny's alright in my book.

They weren't traitors. lol They told him upfront it was 300GB+. Then they asked him his capacity.
His response? "Not a problem." Mister M effed himself, my friend.

still more than my PC-Harddrive (which has 256 GB). Admittedly my PC is projected to be replaced with a new one, which will probaly have around 2000 GB.
