After the shootout, this movie was not worth watching ...

I have to admit Michael Mann directed a terrifying shootout scene in this movie, and is a master at action movies ... but the rest of the movie ... ho-hum, put me to sleep.

To me, De Niro and Pacino are nothing but over-rated. De Niro because he cannot act and whatever cred he has is due to the luck of being in good movies, and Pacino cannot act without over-acting way over the top in everything he does.

If you skip the character development and family scenes in this movie, it is a masterpiece. Just skip those

I like the whole movie and I like De Niro and Pacino, but everything after that shootout definitely pales in comparison. Even the climax/final face-off.

I disagree, Michael Mann likes build up rather than just non stop action. I've always found the whole movie to be riveting.
