The Wolf of Wall Street stole the owl joke from Heat. It feels more like a rip-off than homage. It's pretty sad how nobody remembers it from Heat, yet everyone remembers from The Wolf of Wall Street, and thinks it's original.
I couldn't agree more. Whilst I don't rate HEAT quite as highly as I once did (after so many viewings), TWOWS is one of the most over-rated movies of this generation.
I agree. To be clear- the only thing that (slightly) bugs me after a million viewings is the relationship with Edie, the graphic designer. I feel that could've been trimmed down.
Totally agree about Wolf. Good acting (at least from LD) but it didn't do much for me as a film.
actually Heat stole this joke from another Al Pacino movie, the criminally underrated Sea of Love. And I wouldn't be surprised if they got it from somewhere else too.
crazy co-incidence, it's actually said in Sea of Love by Michael Rooker, who's also in LA Takedown, the template for this movie! There's probably a wolf of wall st connection somewhere too
