The shootout
The big shootout after the robbery like halfway thru the movie I would say might be the best action scene ever filmed. Do you agree or do you think there are some better ones out there?

shareGreat action scene for sure! I loved it
But im going with Conan attacking the snake cult temple in Conan the Barbaran...man...THAT shit was thrilling!
The most realistic, well-executed and heart-pounding shootout sequence in a film ever? No question about it! It is a masterclass in filmmaking.
But the greatest pure action scene? It’s up there, but there’s other brilliant action scenes that I think are noteworthy...
1. John Wick (2014) - Red Circle Club shootout, nearly every other shootout
2. John Wick: Chapter Two (2017) - Hall of mirrors and catacombs shootout, and so many others
3. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) - the whole thing 😏
4. Point Break (1991) - the sequence with the bank robbery that leads to a thrilling foot chase, as well as the final skydiving scene
5. Captain America: Civil War (2016) - idc what any pompous cinephile who looks down on these movies thinks, that magnificent Airport battle is pure cinematic bliss
6. The Raid 2 (2014) - Subway Fight
7. The Matrix (1999) - where do I even start
8. Captain America: The Winter Solider (2014) - Highway battle, Elevator fight, and Nick Fury’s ambush
9. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) - Quicksilver kitchen slow-mo scene
10. Atomic Blonde (2017) - Stairway fight
11. Hard-Boiled (1992) - the final battle
12. Collateral (2004) - club shootout
13. Bullitt (1967) - the famous car chase, if it counts
14. Speed - (1994) - opening sequence
15. Inception (2010) - spinning hallway sequence
16. The Crow (1994) - The final fight and Eric crashing Top-Dollar’s meeting then all hell breaking loose
17. The Dark Knight (2008) - opening bank robbery and Joker vs. Batman with the big truck flip
18. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) - nearly all the fights
19. Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) - church shoutout
20. The Raid: Redemption (2012) - all the fighting; puts all those ridiculous Van Damme, Stegal and Stallone movies to absolute shame
Heat’s in a league of its own. These few outstanding ones, however, are among the greatest in all of cinema, in my book.
Best shootout scene so far. Best action scene is open to debate. I think that Scene 5 in Naughy Anal Sweedish Nurses might be a batter action scene, but, you know, de gustibus.
Fucking iPhone spell-check has the IQ of a cunt hair on crack. I had to type "de gustibus" four fucking times before Apple would let it pass. RI in fucking P, Steve Jobs.
in honour of your efforts , i had to google it .

LOL
Out of the entire list I gotta say that only Bullitt, The Matrix, and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon are great choices.
You seem to have left out a ton of martial arts films, as well as adventure movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark or Star Wars.
Just an awful list. The Dark Knight opening robbery? Really? Nolan can't shoot action to save his life.
Terminator 2 for starters should be near the top of that list.
The fight scene in the original Oldboy is pretty impressive
Lots of bullets flying with causalities everywhere.
I actually prefer the end shootout in The Town.
Two years later, live imitated art, in the form of the North Hollywood shootout.

Outstanding citation, Darth.
The real time robber in the light gray suit looks just like Sizemore!
It’s a good one.
The scene in The Matrix when they break Morpheus out.
Predator when they light up the forest the first time they see the Predator.
T2 when they broke into Dyson.
Diehard when thy blow the roof.
The final battle scene in Saving Private Ryan. The opening battle scene as well.
The irony is when Heat came out that scene was totally over the top unrealistic. Then the Hollywood bank robbery happened a few years later.
Diehard when thy blow the roof.
Fabulous sequence. You get that percussion effect that sets the moment apart.
Next to the ending of Scarface, yes I agree, it was an amazing shootout scene.
