Martin Sheen's 5 minute role was brilliant

Everyone in this movie was great along with Martin Sheen. Anyone else thought his role as the Judge was very Powerful?

He was the perfect needle to pop Larenz Tate's *beep* about "I did what I had to do to survive and life was hard". Couldn't have said it better myself.

reply

Yes! He sounded like a man who knew what he was talking about because he'd been through it, not just some pompous *beep* who went to law school while his buddies were being killed.

Very powerful, he symbolises the unsympathetic atmosphere that Nam' vets encountered on their return to the States. From the general public right up to the representatives of the justice system.

Did you notice that one of the court Bailiff's nods in agreement when the judge proclaims his experiences in Guadalcanal as "a real war"?

reply

Except he had the only annoying line in the whole film, when he says he fought in world war 2,a real war by the way!
Like he was blaming anthony for only fighting in vietnam, and it makes him less of a man for being born something like 20 years too late for ww2.Cos lets face it,thats his fault right?

reply

I agree! The way he delivered was just...damn!

She would make me coooool, and then we would both ruuuuule, forevaaaaaa.
