i'm looking for a good woman to become a wife. women who havent found someone by 30 are either too ugly or too toxic or too picky to find someone. i've tried dating a few older women and they were always awful. there's a reason why they're single by that age. yea i know it speaks the same of me too but there's nothing i can do about that.

I agree with the OP.

You know, the basic synapsis of "Casino" actually happened in real life.

The guys name was Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal. The girl was Geri McGee. And most certainly, she was a mess when Rosenthal got involved with her.

So why would he? He was 40 at the time, she was 33. All the warning signs were there. Rosenthal chased her anyway.

No idea why. So, it may be hard to believe, but it actually did happen.

Yes - "Casino" is is based on a true story.

The Nicky Santoro character - he was based on Tony Spilotro.

ANd yes, Spilotro had an affair with McGee.

And yes, Spilotro and his brother were knocked off and buried in a cornfield.

Truth can be stranger than fiction sometimes.

They changed quite a few details (character names, where Nicki - Anthony Spilatro in the real world - died, that kind of thing), but for the most part it's true.

And while sexy in Dick Tracy, she wasn't very good in that one, either.

I expect that Martin Scorsese knew that, and didn't cast her.

I guess he ALSO saw something in Stone's star work(Basic Instinct mainly) that worked for the part. "Basic Instinct" made Stone a star and Casino(for which she was Oscar-nommed) gave her prestige. Alas, neither lasted for her.

PS. Speaking of Basic Instinct, Madonna WAS cast in an "erotic thriller"(with a courtroom drama edge) designed to cash in on Basic Instinct. It was called Body of Evidence and it came out the year after Basic Instinct, perhaps too close to be considered a copycat movie, but maybe greenlit in the knowledge that Basic Instinct would precede it. I'd say that Madonna outdid Sharon Stone in sex and nudity , but not in acting , plus, in the same movie, Julianne Moore in a secondary role got a hot sex scene with Willem Dafoe too -- and she COULD act.

Its a very weird but interesting movie. Dick Tracy(with Warren Beatty) came out the year after the first Batman(with Beatty's pal Jack Nicholson as the Joker) and didn't come close to the same gross. Dick Tracy wasn't as cool as Batman, and Beatty's movie was a bit too arty -- though it did cadge Al Pacino an Oscar nom as the film's main villain.

And Madonna is sexy in it and sings a coupla songs.
