Wow, what a powerful scene of them preparing dinner and scrubbing the carrots. (sigh).

There was actually a point to that scene. It's not even like it's hard to see what the point of it was yet you somehow missed it. 

Why the sigh and sarcasm?

It was a powerful scene because it recalled a domestic image of a husband’s helping his wife cook dinner. It created the intimacy that would develop more intensely between the two lead characters
