What has Mel Gibson ...

....got against England?
What a cunt....

reply

I'm not Mel Gibson, but if I could answer: Mel was in a film titled "Braveheart" and not a film that promotes anti-English sentiments.

If the latter is the case, I'd be surprised the UK rakes Braveheart very low and considered hateful. I beg to differ.

reply

He was also in a film called the Patriot

I don't think anyone who watched 'The Patriot' came away with the idea of hate, and disliking England. It's just a movie about a fictional story surrounding events of the American revolution.

Though your argument can be more refined, IMO, to "What has Mel Gibson got against Colonization?" Films would include Braveheart, The Patriot, and Apocalypto.

reply

I should point out that in the time of Braveheart and the Battle of Stirling Bridge (what bridge in the movie?) that it was the English who were the enemy, but in The Patriot, it was most likely the British, consisting of English, Welsh and Scottish forces who were against the American colonists, so things had obviously changed.

reply

You can point that out, but it was the Scottish lairds who were the real enemy. Longshanks army consisted of Irish and Welsh as well as English.
The American Revolutiom was actually British against British if you think about it as there was no United States at that time, only the colonies.

It still promotes it nonetheless.

Then he failed didn't he?

Just waiting for his next movie. The one where the heroic Adolf Hitler repels the wicked English from Dunkirk.

reply

He doesn't have anything against England. But when you're playing a medieval Scot rebelling against England, it's inevitable that they resemble bad guys, because in this story, they are.

reply

It's the fact he not only makes these movies, it's the fact he goes to lengths to make the so bad yet it was the Scottish lairds who turned on Wallace

reply

Now you understand the real issue that Wallace failed to see; he didn't realize that not all of his enemies were from England.

reply

No. I understand the real issue Gibson failed to see.

reply

i believe gibbo have irish ancestrys. that might explain the hates. you took there tates.
