there's so many interesting pet detective stories that could have been told, so many situations ace could find himself in and be funny. carey should have done one after every dramatic film. i think it would have stayed fresh.

sharealways thought the premise of the pet detective was a solid one. but i don't think it needed to be a Jim Carrey vehicle. i think it might have worked better with somebody like Bruce Campbell and lot less whacky hijinks. played it more like a goofy noir story, sort of serious but not really.
