Death to the WORST Sketch Comedy Show

Good riddance!
Never funny.
Never clever.
Never witty.
Constantly repetitive.
Constantly mind-numbingly stupid.
Constantly featured the most obnoxious characters.
14 years was undoubtedly far too long.
Now if only they'd finally cancel SNL. At least that show used to be funny way back in the mid-nineties.

Considering this show has been on more then twice as long as any of the shows your state are better? Why even bother posting and defending your claims so much if you don't give a *beep* about this show? Who cares...go complain somewhere else. Don't watch it. Other people obviously have been.

If you hate it so much, why bother coming on to this site and searching the show and posting it here. When I dislike a show, I usually move on with my life.

I am a fan of both SNL and Madtv, but when I was younger I would also pick SNL over it if it was a new one. However, around 2002, I found that MADtv was more consistently funny than SNL, so I started watching Madtv first and just clicking over to SNL once and a while. During that time, there were some brillian episodes that hardly featured one bad skit IMO. I stopped watching madtv regularly about 4-5 years ago and switched back to SNL, but I still think Madtv had some occasionally hilarious skits. No sketch comedy can be consistently great its entire run, even my favourite Kids in the Hall, had some unfunny episodes. Overall, Madtv was a pretty decent show during its run, and they had some sketches that were very clever and sometimes ingenius.

You've got it all wrong: SNL was BRILLIANT in the early-mid 90's, before cast members started dieing off or getting canned. It all went downhill when Ferell and Shannon came IN, IMO. And as far as MadTV, it actually got better in recent years. Though I think the first season was the funniest, before they had those regular annoying characters show up. But in its heydey, Mad was 10x funn"ier" than SNL is TODAY!

My take on Mad TV has always been that it wasn't exactly brilliant comedy, but it never aimed to be...it was just a fun show that lampooned pop culture and had some funny characters. You wouldn't go to it to see anything amazing or groundbreaking but if you wanted to see a good celebrity impression or a funny TV show parody, this was your show. Though at times, they did tap into a higher brand of comedy and were successful at it (the 'iRack' sketch is a good example) but generally that wasn't their goal - it was just a fun entertainment show that aimed simply to give you some belly laughs and nothing more. Was it anything that will stand out as some of the finest comedy the world has ever seen? Certainly not, but it served its purpose through-out its run until the last 2 years or so when it was obvious Mad TV's time was nearing its end.

I love how you try to defend your position by bringing in your favorite comedy shows, it doesn't really matter what you like because your opinion isn't universal.

BTW, Tim and Eric blows.

I get it up, I get it up in the dark, I make her feel I'm not a holy man

Anyone else wanna celebrate the humiliating defeat of SexualZombie in her anti-mad campaign?

She failed to realize that her opinion is irrelevant, and factually, Einstein's laws of relativity defend MadTV from being the 'worst comedy show.'

There are no privileged points of view, that goes for opinions as well.

Coming from someone who enjoys the "Transformers" franchise, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" television series, and Digimon...your opinion is of no value to me.
Thanks.

I have beautiful and varied tastes, but Transformers is not one of them!
