Disturbing/Freaky moments

How did some of the episodes end up on air? some of them were actually pretty brutal and scary.
Take for example, Werewolf Skin; The kid grabs a shovel an starts beating the crap out of two werewolves. Or One Day At Horrorland, one of the monsters is holding the decapitated head of a girl..

I know right now that these episodes probably would`nt be on tv right now. I`m just wondering how they ended up airing some of them because re watching them, They`re actually kind of disturbing.

Any episodes or moments that stand out to you?

You shoot me in a dream, you better wake up and apologize

It was surprising that all of them made it to television back then. As for today, it wouldn't be surprising. Ya got it backward.

From what I can remember, it was from Haunted Mask 2, and the boy got the 'old man' mask and how he slowly started turning into him, I THINK....I think it was the guy who sold it to him he was pleading "help me" to him or something. The way he said it really got to me.

"I shall rise from my own death, to avenge hers with all the powers of darkness."

There are only a few genuinely creepy moments I can recall from the show:

- The masks coming to life in The Haunted Mask. And the realization that they were actually rotting flesh. Yeesh.
- The ghost from Piano Lessons Can Be Murder. The episode in general was kind of silly, but when the kid came downstairs to see the woman playing the piano, it was very unsettling.
- Welcome to Dead House: Any of the various moments when the zombie people came into the house, but especially the creepy girl who appeared in the middle of the night.

I was always terrified of "The Werewolf of Fever Swamp" and that scary old man that traps the kid in the net and howls at the moon. Definitely freaked me out as a kid, and I've been too weirded out to see it since!

'Chillogy' was by far the creepiest, in a Hills-Have-Eyes way.

The gnomes were quite disturbing too.

Quite a few eps freaked me out

Stay of Basement was just a creepy ep throughout especially the last 5 or so mins

Bride of the Living Dummy; at the end were that girl's brother gets possessed by slappy scared the *beep* out of me

Attack of the Jack O' Lanterns; The main characters friends are relived to be very creepy muppet looking aliens and they might have ate those missing people

The Werewolf of Fever Swamp was kinda creepy when I was first saw the ep,but I can tolerate it now

I must become someone else. I must become something else.

I am just going to sit here and list all of the episodes that would of freaking me out as a kid and why.

-The Girl Who Cried Monster: Because a world where monsters look like humans is Unsettling
-The Cuckoo Clock of Doom: I actually cried when I watched this as a kid because I thought if I looked
at a clock that I would lose my baby brother, Tony.
-Stay out of the Basement: The green ooz freaked me out!
-Say Cheese and Die/Again: A camera that predicts horrid futures, yeah, that would of been freaky.
-The Headless Ghost: By far the most disturbing for me, mostly because I didn't expect the twist!
-Be Careful What You Wish For: Stranger Danger!
-Go Eat Worms: Well, if I didn't like worms then...I HATE THEM NOW.
-Let's Get Invisible: This is one of the few Goosebumps books I own and let me say, it's much more
darker than the episode.
-Ghost Beach: When the kids transform into their ghost form, that is by far a chilling moment.
-Attack of the Jack-O-Lanterns: Surprise, their aliens and it's weird!
-The Blob that Ate Everyone: Stories that come to life? I feel like I've seen that somewhere before...
-Shocker on Shock Street: The twist ending got me, but did anyone else notice how many Nightmare
on Elm Street references there are, I counted at least 3!
-One Day at Horrorland: By FAR by favorite but also freaked me out as an young one.
-An Old Story: FREAKY

Near the end of The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight, there was a pop when they are all in the barn and a Scarecrow breaks through the door after a moment of silence, I legit jumped at that pop.
