Despite being a massive Father Ted fan, I find a few episodes to be nowhere near as funny as the rest. 'And God Created Women,' and 'Rock A Hula Ted' really didn't do anything for me, and I found the Christmas special really dragged after the famous department store scene.
There seems to be a plurality consensus about "Rock A Hula Ted". In fact, that was the only episode I skipped when I did a Father Ted re-run some weeks ago.
(Although this episode contains one of my favorite one-off characters, Father "How-much-did-you-pay-for-that-door" Whatsisname...)

I think I go along with the rest of you with "Rock a Hula Ted" but the episode I never watch on my dvd set now is "New Jack City". Didn't like that one at all
I just watched Kicking Bishop Brennan last night and came here to post a sacriligious message that Season 3 was pretty disappointing overall! I do remember thinking that when it was aired, but I think Dermot died around that time and maybe I looked at in a sort of melancholy way, and made allowances.
I thought KBBUTA was terrible! As our friend above says, the repetition of the title gets really tedious, but also the script seems really rushed and lacking in killer lines. The acting is even hammier than usual, as if that is funny in and of itself (normally it IS funny, in this it just isn't). I like the idea of BB getting all the way to his aiudience with the pope before realising he's been KUTA, but I think I'd have handled it differently. How about, rather than have him in shock the whole time, they had him acting in his normal, urbane way, flirting with the girl on the check-in (the lovely Ash Sands) quaffing champagne in the business class departure lounge and on the plane, then SUDDENLY, just when he meets the pope...realising.
Anyway, I digress. The whole third series suffered from this half-baked approach (the Christmas episode was weak, including the dragged out lingerie scene) - of course there are brilliant lines and scenarios here and there, but I think they did the right thing knocking it on the head (which was the plan before Dermot died).
Awight we're The Daamned we're a punk baand and this is called Carn't Be Appy T'day!
I would say that "Escape From Victory" is my least favourite . I felt the whole football match thing was a bit weak . "Rock- a-Hula Ted" is just ahead of it. It has a clever central concept, but the satire was just too heavy-handed for my liking.
The only thing that stopped me from giving FT a 10/10 rating was the fact that it could trip into silliness once in a while. However 9/10 is good by any standards is it not ?
I have to admit New Jack City is the go to episode for me to kill 25 minutes (approx). We all have different tastes, New Jack, mean spirited, and annoying, is exactly what you expect from this character, and this is the comedy angle. Anyway the weakest for me would be Grant Unto Him Eternal Rest where jack dies. But they all have good and bad points.
Flight Into Terror without a doubt was the weakest episode. That inexplicably laughing priest with the sunglassses just got on my nerves and I can't stand that comedian who played the gay priest in the hipster specs who was threatening to kill himself.
Flight Into Terror was pretty weak, but the Xmas special went on WAAAAY TOOO LOOOONG. We had it on in the background of our family Xmas dinner last year, and some of the people who had never seen it before thought it was three full episodes.

I would have to go with New Jack City. I just felt like father Fintan Stack didn't fit the show. Don't get me wrong, I found him funny, but some of his antics and comments didn't fit in.
For example, when they're watching the sports video and he makes mention of the priests enjoying seeing other men in short pants, "you dirty feckers". It was funny but the humor in Ted wasn't really built on insults so it felt a bit out of place.
To the contrary an awful lot of Fr Teds humour was based on insults.Fr Jacks putdowns,Bishop Brennans ear bashings of both Ted and Dougal,Teds rivalry with that other priest (forget his name just now).
