My God, this is worse than I remembered...
... had to come back here just to drop my 4/10 rating to 3/10.

If I remember correctly, I didn't like this movie 22 years ago and only saw it once.
Now, I'm giving it a 2nd shot, 22 years later.
From your post, I have a feeling I might be wasting 2 hours of my life. Since I'm on doctor ordered bed rest, I thought I'd take the gamble.
The first time I watched in the 90s, I actually liked it, probabky a 8/10.
Just watched it a second time yesterday. Extremely disappointed. Way too tedious and boring, weird Stuntman-jump-around scenes. At least Jack and Michelle are decent. 5/10
I disagree with these posters of yesteryear. I saw it in the 90's and probably half a dozen more times over the years since the first time. Each time I see it I enjoy it even more. In my opinion, it was a well made film. Great story, and not your typical werewolf movie.

Maybe that is the problem with the past posts. Perhaps they were made by teenagers.

No, Margo. It’s just a bad werewolf movie, and I love werewolf movies. Nicholson, whose career recognition will plummet with his body temperature when he dies, was “okay”
as Satan in The Devil’s Advocate, but should not be cast in occult films, including Batman. He lacks the soul for it. This whole thing was a Hollywood cash-grab. Mike Nichols directing a WEREWOLF movie? What’s next? Elaine May directing a slasher film?
Sheesh.
Jack Nicholson was not Satan in The Devil’s Advocate. He was Satan in The Witches of Eastwick. Al Pacino was Satan in The Devil’s Advocate.
shareI just rewatched it for the first time in about 25 years. I remember being a little disappointed by it the first time I saw it as a teenager, but now bringing a more adult sensibility to it I found it to be a much more enjoyable film.
It's certainly an interesting and strange movie, but that lends it a feeling of originality. The early-to-mid 90s really was a great time for movies. I feel like the current era pales greatly in comparison.
"God awful" seems harsh to me but to each his own. I gave it a 6/10 because I would have shorten it of at least a good 15 minutes. But I find it pretty good. And actually, I like seeing special effect that aren't CGI. Call me weird but to me it's a plus. Even if it shows.
shareIt's so bad that you watched it again? Idiot.
shareSaw it in 94 at the movies, Neither the date or I, She wanted to leave at the 1/2 way, but i whispered her to stay with it, and we did
Well it didn't get better
Jack hasn't had many flops but this in one, might be worse than the Passenger
The first mistake is thinking this is “a werewolf movie”.
shareIt ends anti climactically, but it's a pretty good movie. It lacks thrills, but Nicholson's portrayal of the transformation and how that effects his life while in human form makes up for it.
