Both Arnie's and Cameron's best film?
I think so. Terminator 1 and Total Recall not far behind.
This is my signature. Enjoy.

I always have a blast watching True Lies as it definitely is one of the most entertaining and funny action movie with comedy that I have seen. Schwarzenneger is just a blast in this movie and he was perfect for that role. Now, I would not say that it is Cameron and Arnie's absolute best film together, as it is difficult to beat The Terminator and T2 (The Terminator being my favorite probably, with Arnie as one of the greatest vilains ever), but in all honesty it is just not the same type of film at all.
Even individually speaking, the first two Terminator movies would still be among both men's best movies, if not their best. Regarding Cameron, though, I will always have a soft spot for The Abyss, and Aliens is one of the best sequel I have ever seen. Regarding Arnie, well like other users wrote before me, I think Predator and Total Recall are also among his very best movies. But I also quite enjoyed both Conan movies (yes, even the second one), Commando, Eraser, End of Days, The Last Stand, Escape Plan and, for what they were, Twins and Kindergarten Cop.
Bill Foster: I'm the bad guy?...How did that happen?
If by Arnie you mean Tom Arnold, then yes. Otherwise, heck no.
shareTerminator 2, then True Lies.

I like T2 better, but this would is definitely a very close second. I would almost give this the edge, as it's one of Arnold's only movies where he convincingly plays a role instead of basically being a caricature of himself (the terminator films do this as well, but its a bit different given the nature of the character he is playing).
sharei just finished re-watching True Lies, which is probably the first time i re-watched it in a good 5+ years, and it does not hold up for me nowadays as i think it's pacing is what ultimately hurts it as i think it's fairly dull for the first 45minutes and then gets noticeably better overall but still has some slightly duller stretches late into the movie. if the movie fixed the duller stretches it could have still gotten a mild thumbs up from me (i.e. 6/10) but as is...
5-5.5/10 (average/forgettable. Thumbs Down).
James Cameron's movies rank like this for me...
1.Terminator 2 - 10/10
2.Terminator 1 - 8.5-9/10
3.The Abyss - 8/10 (needs a re-watch)
4.Titanic - 7.5-8/10
5.Aliens (needs a re-watch)
6.True Lies - 5-5.5/10 (Thumbs Down)
7.Avatar - 5/10
p.s. i used to think True Lies was memorable quite a few years ago as back then i gave it a 7.5-8/10. i am going to re-watch The Abyss/Aliens to make sure those hold up.

Although it's not groundbreaking like the first two Terminator films (particularly T2), this one is just as exciting as either of those two. Plus, I think it is a very well-made film. So yes, I'll say True Lies is up there with their best work.
Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!
