Soundtrack sounds like an old 'James Bond' movie??

All I could think about during the entire movie is how the basic background music used throughout the whole thing sounds like a rehashed James Bond soundtrack from around that same time period.

I mean, it sounds SO MUCH like Bond music, it makes me wonder if it was originally meant to be for a Bond film, but then someone from this movie was able to pick it up for cheap (or something like that) .

Either way, it's pretty crappy... and brings the film down in a lot of ways.

Anyone else think it sounds like BOND music?

I caught a bit of "A View to a Kill" with Roger Moore the other night on cable and when I heard some of the background music, it was just like, "Hey, that sounds an awful lot like the stuff that was in The Specialist"...

I still think that they just got a hold of some old "Bond" music...

I thought the exact same thing when I was watching this ridiculously over-the-top, eye rolling clap trap of a film.

The background music kept reminding me of a James Bond soundtrack... and a really OLD James Bond soundtrack back when they liked using those jazzy brass horns.

John Barry did the music for this film. He did the bonds till 87. Hence the bond like soundtrack genius but sometimes he repeated himself. Hope that helps.

That does explain it! I thought the same thing as the OP, that it sounded a lot like a Bond movie.

Dude i love this score. Barry might be my favorite. There's a bittersweet beauty to the main theme thats typically grand of Him. His score for King Kong is great too.

I've just been watching for the first time in years and couldn't help noticing myself that it sounded like a 80s Bond movie. Finally I decided to look up the composer and sure enough it was the legendary John Barry. For me the score is a cross between Octopussy/The Living Daylights.

It hit me today, a reason(not the only one) I don't like this movie is because of the score.
I do like the score and the sultry theme, but it's very slow and, in my opinion,overused. It feels like the movie grinds to a halt. It makes the movie feel like its 3 hours long and 3 hours of Stallone, Stone, and Woods is just to frickin long, lol.

The score is awesome, great job John Barry!

It's one of the most appealing parts of the movie.

That and James Woods going over the top in almost every scene he's in.

I don't mind watching 3 hours of any of them. Woods and Stone actually made 3 hours long movies: Once Upon a Time in America for Woods and Casino for Stone.
