You people need to watch more films, lol.

Frankly I hate that The Dark Knight and the Dark Knight Rises are rated so high. I hate Dark Knight Rises but like the Dark Knight. But I do not think think either are on par with some of the other high rated movies on imdb's top 250. But what do you expect when you allow 13 year olds to rate films.
shareIt's a bit overrated...
shareIt's a very good movie based on a very good story. Is it my number 1 movie - no. Everyone's number 1 movie will be different based on experiences, interests, likes, dislikes etc. So if someone else says other movies are better, or film sites have lists of all time movies, it doesn't really affect someone if they say "The Hottie and the Nottie" is the best film ever. To them, that piece of crap is the best film ever and that's all that really matters. Who gives a bipple?
shareI know a lot of it is subjective, but it is still fun to put it into perspective. I always try not to sound like a film snob when I do this but anyone that would say Hottie and Nottie is the best film ever probably hasn't seen very many films. Do I really care if someone has this opinion? No....
I understand that it usually boils down to experience and your likes and dislikes but there really isn't a thin line between good film and not so good film. It's almost like comparing a McDonald's cheeseburger to a filet mignon made at a four star restaurant. Of course the steak is going to be better than a Micky D's cheeseburger but if the cheeseburger is all you've experienced in your life then yeah, you might just say out of the blue that the cheeseburger is better.
The IMDB listing for top films is based on fans voting, not industry professionals. Look up the industries top 100 films of all time, and that would be the list that I would consider.
I do not believe anyone can be called a true film fan if the only movies they have seen are ones made after they were born.
I saw it when it was new. It was pretty good, but I have no urge to ever see it again. It is very overrated.
