Composer suggestions for the new movie- your opinions?

Who would be the best composer for the new Shadow movie? I wouldn't mind hearing what Jerry Goldsmith's son, Joel could do. He is the composer for "Stargate Atlantis" and it would be a nice touch for him to follow in his father's footsteps on composing for any future Shadow movie.

I feel that Joel has yet to mount such a score on his own. Yes he did Stargate Atlantis, assisted his dad on Star Trek: First Contact, did Call of Duty 3, and such, but I can't see him helming such a project and producing something powerful.

Definitely no against Zimmer or any other media Venture drones.

I'd vote for Elfman (nothing like Darkman though), Giacchino, or James Newton Howard.

I'd like to see James Horner. His work on The Rocketeer captured the "old time feel" of the movie.

James Horner, however, has not written anything original or decent in years. I'd fear him just blatantly copying other works of his and others again.

Mark Isham??? or Howard Shore, two of my favourite movie composers...

Joel Goldsmith is a great idea! If not him, I would go with David Arnold, Michael Giacchino or Alan Silvestri (who looks poised for a return to form with the upcoming Captain America!)

John Powell. Taken together, his work on "Robots" "Antz" and "Kung Fu Panda" were more than enough to qualify working on an East meets West movie with plenty of mysterious and humorous elements.

I was waiting for someone to mention Powell. I didn't know he did the score for those other movies tho. I mainly know of him from his excellent score for happy feet.

Ennio Morricone is still alive. It would be nice to hear one more piece from him.
