Composer suggestions for the new movie- your opinions?

Who would be the best composer for the new Shadow movie? I wouldn't mind hearing what Jerry Goldsmith's son, Joel could do. He is the composer for "Stargate Atlantis" and it would be a nice touch for him to follow in his father's footsteps on composing for any future Shadow movie.

I've never honesty given much thought to composers - but I like your idea of Joel Goldsmith [never knew who did the work for SGA before] as I think that SGA has one of the best openings (music-wise) on TV today.

I saw the name of Joel Goldsmith in the credits and wondered if he was related to the late Jerry Goldsmith and sure enough, he was. I got the SGA soundtrack and wish the intro was longer. It is great music.

Danny Elfman.

I'd like to throw a hat in the ring for Alan Silvestri. He's pretty under-rated and he's got a good range of scores under his belt.

Christopher Franke-He did Babylon 5

My choice would be Clinton Shorter from District 9.

When I first thought about who to score the new movie, my first thought was "Joel Goldsmith".
We Think alike.
(Joel also did SG1, SGU, and the SG TV movies.

I already posted my opinion on the board for the new movie, so because I am lazy, I will paste that post here:

Jerry Goldsmith's score was perfect, and will be near-to-impossible to beat(As is any of Goldsmith's work).

John Williams is always capable of composing great scores. Alan Silvestri used to be able to, but he has slipped back a little. (He could return to greatness, though.)

Danny Elfman, while an excellent composer, I wasn't a fan of his superhero works that much.

Joel Goldsmith? (Son of Jerry) He seems to have obtained his father's talent. He showed off exceptional skill with Stargate SG1, and as able to blend sci-fi, horror, mysticism, and adventure all into an entertaining score. I think he would be a good choice

Danny Elfman.

I've no wish to spend my remaining years grieving for the loss of old friends or their sons.

An Elfman Shadow score would indeed be lovely.

I would also suggest Bear McCreary. He's a very talented and innovative composer who worked on the newer Battlestar Galactica among other things.

Here's a couple examples of his work I could imagine haunting the dark streets:

Jerry Goldsmith score was awesome for this movie so it it will be very hard to top it

My choice would be either Elliot Goldenthal, Hans Zimmer or Dario Marianelli

KABOOM KABOOM MUAHAHAHA!

if Sam Raimi actually gets to film his version of the story like is rumoured, i'm betting the composer will be Christopher Young, who did his last two movies. a shame, though, that Raimi's relationship with Elfman soured, because an Elfman Shadow score would be amazing.

My first thought would be Marco Beltrami. But so long as it's NOT Danny Elfman, I'm probably OK with whoever.
