I don't like that he killed (SPOILER)

A guy (Claymore, Tim Curry's character) who had clearly just gone insane via presenting him with a fake door(which turns out to be a window to his doom). Just came across as cruel, but that's just me.

The idea behind the Shadow (which I really like as superhero origins go) is that has caused and has seen so much evil in the world that he knows the true depths the human soul can sink to, hence the famous quote: 'Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? THE SHADOW KNOWS' *cue evil laughter*
The Shadow is arguably the most evil man who ever lived for that reason, and he uses that as an excuse to go around killing criminals and villains... because he alone knows how evil humanity can become, and so he wants to prevent that.
So the whole reason I'm saying this is, him killing Farley Claymore is not only understandable for his character, but the way he did it actually speaks volumes about the Shadow's personality. Think about it.
He decided to use his illusionary powers to kill Claymore. He could've just shot him, or strangled him, or beat him to death, or phsyically push Claymore off the edge himself, but no, he decided to psychologically destroy Claymore with illusions, and then had Claymore kill himself instead.
To me it's almost as if the Shadow was thinking 'I can't be bothered wasting the energy to physically kill him, I'll just have him do it himself'. It really shows just how cruel and disturbing the shadow is as a 'hero'.
