Chris Penn Would've Made A Much Better Jimmie

Tarantino is a great writer and director, but his acting is so amateurish that it's painful. Especially in scenes with quality actors like Travolta & Jackson.

Chris Penn would've been great as Jimmie.

Tarantino would've done better to pull a Hitchcock by making random appearances as a background character.

reply

Who is Jimmie?
I thought that's Quentin.
Everybody knows it's Quentin.

reply

No it should’ve been Steve Buscemi

reply

Penn or Buscemi would've done the part better than QT. QT should've cast himself as a waiter at Jack Rabbit Slim's. He could've been Bill Hayley!

reply

He did make an appearance as the dude whose house they came too with the dead dude, before his nursing wife came home

reply

no way, Jimmy was a total scumbag and
QT nailed that scene with his incompetence as an actor.

reply

Incompetence, yes. But Chris Penn was the ultimate foul mouthed scumbag in Reservoir Dogs.

reply

The role was originally meant for Buscemi, but he wasn't available. I have to agree with the post above that Penn would've been too much of a scumbag. Buscemi would've nailed the role of a geeky criminal whose wife wears the pants at home. Tarantino just comes across a geeky employee at a video store.

reply

Interesting. Is that why Buscemi took the smaller Buddy Holly waiter part?

reply

Tarantino's first passion was acting. He wasn't interested in just cameos ala Hitchcock.
