Tarantino is a great writer and director, but his acting is so amateurish that it's painful. Especially in scenes with quality actors like Travolta & Jackson.
Chris Penn would've been great as Jimmie.
Tarantino would've done better to pull a Hitchcock by making random appearances as a background character.

shareThe role was originally meant for Buscemi, but he wasn't available. I have to agree with the post above that Penn would've been too much of a scumbag. Buscemi would've nailed the role of a geeky criminal whose wife wears the pants at home. Tarantino just comes across a geeky employee at a video store.
