why the scene in the bra
Why did they show Faith in a bra? (The scene when she was getting ready for the party) What's the purpose of that?

sharewhy do people ask pointless questions?
Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.
It's not a pointless question. I just wonder why the makers of the movie think it's neccessary to show people in their underwear in movies. Jeez!
shareto show more realism... people do change their clothes you know..even in the movies.

Why did they show Faith in clothes in most scenes? What's the purpose of that? It's not a pointless question. I just wonder why moviemakers and people like you think it's neccessary to show people fully dressed all the time. Jeez!
The huge problem here is that people like you have a sad tendency to deem your question reasonable and mine absurd, whereas open-minded people who are not imprisoned in tiny cultural jails are able to see it's really the other way round.
BTW, why did they show war in Band of Brothers? Why did they show murder in The Godfather? Why did they show killing in Little House On The Prairie?
Why don't they only show people sitting still, telling each other the coffee tastes well, and afterwards they pray?
I ask you: WHY?????

lol. Good answer.
shareI found that scene pointless. Good grief, I am tired of seeing everyone naked or barely naked in a movie when it serves no purpose. Yes, people have to change their clothes in the movies. They have to go potty too, but they don't usually show that! I think they just wanted to show off Faith's body, and she certainly didn't mind.

Yeah, I agree with whoever posted this also happens in real life.
Besides, after seeing Marisa Tomei in The Wrestler... OMG, I do want more of her, with bra, no bra, clothed, unclothed, whatever! ;)
You guys are all a bunch of prudes AND must not have watched the movie!!!
The reason she is shown in VERY concealing under garments- is because when Peter (Downey) comes in, he is anticipating her every need from the other side of the door- dress, earrings- anklet- etc. This is supposed to show again that they are 2 halves of the same soul.
As for people in partial states of disrobement- get over yourselves! this scene wasn't that long nor was it done in bad taste nor was it particularly overt sexually.
take a breath & relax- sex isn't the root of all evil.
--- we all know it's money.
(that's a joke of course)
I think part of the point of it was to show Peter handing everything she needed to get dressed to her through the door, having it to hand before she even asked for it.
shareIt also gives her a reason to run into the bathroom when Giovanni knocks on the door, to give him and Kate a semi-private moment.
Ignore the trolls!

"cute" indeed. I saw this movie a long time and did not remember this at all. What a treat!
shareWhy not? Maybe to show that even her underwear was totally cute. It shows her intimacy with her sister-in-law, getting dressed together, etc. Faith was even in the tub in one scene. I have to say I don't have any friend I feel comfortable enough to be near-naked with.
Another thing, Faith and Peter never got naked together. There was no obligatory sex scene, so that is another nice, charming and old-fashioned thing about this movie.
Because she is HOT and that lingerie was SO sexy! Done. Next question.
I'm home. I'm home, Archie. - RIP, Jean.
