Sir Richard Attenborough is Santa Claus

I'm currently watching "Miracle on 34th Street" at primetime and everytime I see Sir Richard Attenborough, I start to believe that he's Santa ;). It's giving the magic of christmas back... and I'm feeling like a little boy in front of the christmas tree waiting for him to come.

Though I've never seen the original, I like this version very much every chrismas time.

Granted, this is a fantastic remake of a classic. If you like this one, please see the original to see how close they came to recreating it. Don't waste your time on the 1978 remake. That one should have never been released. It is that bad.

OH MY GOSH!!! I think this too!! I'm convinced that he's the real thing. Ohhhh.... so glad that I'm not the only one!!!!!

Sorry, I got way to excited there but YYYAAAYYYY!!!!

I agree - he IS Santa and I think it is not just his acting but that he is a great humanitarian (as were his parents) and has remained scandal free throughout his long and distinguished career.

He was wonderful in this movie - very convincing.

I never thought anyone could compare to Edmend Gwenn in this role, but Sir Richard came awfully close in this remake. Superb performance.

no doubt a brilliant performance by Sir Richard Attenborough. he is jolly and has a calm, fun aura about him.

I agree. I've seen both the original and this one & I just love Sir Richard! He is as close to the real thing as I've ever seen protrayed (yet still humanly believeable.)

reply

Oh, YES! I absolutely agree! He's so much better than Edmund Gwenn! Not only does he LOOK more like Santa, but he just feels so much more friendly, warm and 'inviting' than Gwenn. I've seen both and I don't even want to watch the old one anymore! This is my FAVORITE Christmas movie!!

You're joking, right? Edmund Gwenn was the definitive Santa in Miracle on 34th Street, nobody can come close to his iconic preformance.
