in the category of the worst remake winner is ...

I would definitely have to name this movie. I watched the original version right before the remake and the difference was so huge that I hated this one.

So my winner for worst remake is Miracle on 34th Street

I think the Psycho and Manchurian Candidate remakes would rank higher.

I was 11 when this came out so I remember watching it a lot. I generally don't like remakes, but I enjoy this movie.

Richard Rickman is a respected therapist. Rick Rickman will sell you a used Grand Cherokee.

Just as many people love this remake.
I suppose it depends who is watching it.
My young kids don't like the older version, but love this one.
But to slam this movie as awful is just nonsense.
It may not be as great to you as the older version,
but its still a very well made movie that all the family can enjoy.

I have to agree. I gave the original 9/10 and this remake 1/10. I can't think of any other remake that dropped 8 points in rating. Though the original King Kong to the 1976 remake comes close and I have not seen the newer remake.

The original has charm and heart. The remake is so soulless abomination.

All a matter of personal opinion. IMO, this is the BEST remake ever.

This movie and the True Grit from a few years back... just the worst.

This movie might not be perfect but the worst remake ever? No. Psycho, Oldboy, The Wicker Man, Godzilla, Planet of the Apes etc. Those movies are some of the worst remakes ever made. Not this.
