When Billy first becomes manager, one of the players mentions that he's "still 6 years away from getting into an R-rated movie." This would make Billy 12 years old. Later, Billy's mom admits that she hasn't been on a date in 14 years, the last time she went out with her husband. So if she hasn't been with her husband in 14 years, who's Billy's father?

Billy's father had died sometime before the movie takes place, as to he is never seen in the movie and also there is no other mention of her being with other guys, that could have been Billy's father. There is no mention how before the movie tales place that Thomas Heywood Jr passed away, or what was the cause of his death. The women that enters in the next scene after Billy's grandfather's funeral that mentioned to Jenny that after her husband Thomas Jr had passed on, her father-in-law had taped a personal message, and it was recorded over a old Chicago Bulls game at the old Chicago Stadium. So she would have been with her husband til he passed away since there is no mention of them being divorced even at his death but there is no mention how long before he died.
