How did Zed get his briefcase past airport customs? I mean it's got safe cracking stuff and explosives in it.

Watched it a while ago but im asssuming he clda sauce explosives in france but jf it all came from the case i resort back to my other answer, pre 9/11

I was traveling overseas before 9/11 and they still had searches and metal detectors even back then.

I wondered that as well. I don't think there's technically anything illegal about him bringing those tools with him. But the explosives is definitely something he wouldn't of been able to bring on a plane. But for the movie's sake, I'll just overlook that one small detail. Like someone else in the comment section said, "Pre 9/11". So maybe security at the airport just didn't notice.

When he checks into his hotel room the busboy says that a package arrived “the night before the last Night.” The safe cracking tools were sent by him or someone else before he arrived in Paris.
