If you told someone if you won the lottery..

you would give them half of it, would you have kept the promise?

reply

I wouldnt make a big promise like that to a stranger. if i made that to a friend or family member. yes, i would split the money

reply

Yes. Aside from honor, there's the fact that half of the prize would still be a lot.

You know i am an idealist, and i really hope that i would do as i promised. If i didnt, it just wouldnt sit well with me, and i am a highly-strung person, i would blame any small misfortune on my guilt at not keeping my word, and this is not worth it for whatever amount, or so i think. But yeah, i wouldnt want to drown that voice inside my head that would tell me its wrong, so yeah, i actually would, and be glad that i did. That way, i could sleep satisfied and smiling at night. Plus, the whole premise of the movie is something that i believe in, the ability of the heart to expand and create magic. Without love, its all meaningless.

Isn't that what the real life cop did?

Just for the record: he remained married to his wife.

reply

If I promised it, yes.

Otherwise I already have plans.
Pay off Mom's, My brothers', my In-Law's, and my mortgage.

Then the rest goes to our retirement and a few local charities.

After that, continue to work with yearly vacations to see family in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Canada, and the states.

if i'd promised someone something then i'd have to. infact the film is based on a true story!, well the part where a cop gives a waitress half of his winnings as a tip after winning the NY lottery. the rest ofit never happened.

reply

I suppose.
