Massive spoliler on front cover...

Well perhaps "joke spolier".

I loved the Proxy, immense. I think it comtains the longest running joke of any film I have ever seen, Tim Robbin's character proudly proclaiming "you know....for kids!" as his baffled collegue inspects his "revolutionary invention".
I found that so funny on it's own - so when the "punchline" came at the end - well!!
...And then I see the front cover on IMDB - and I am like what???

I made this post kind of crytic so as not to give anything anyway - hopefully somebody knows what I am talking about.

The "front cover" of the video and DVD, etc. is a reproduction of the original movie poster, so the spoiler goes all the way back to its original release including the tag line "he threw them for a hoop".

I always thought the poster/DVD cover w/ the Hula Hoop was a mistake. When I saw it in the theater when it first came out, the poster was a different design that didn't have the spoiler.

So every time Norville holds up the circle and says "You know, for kids!" we just laughed. We thought he WAS an idiot. Having the hoop on the poster didn't spoil the movie, but it did spoil that running gag.
