What is the point of any movie, my friend? Pure entertainment. And that's exactly what this movie is. If you didn't figure that out, then may God have pity on your soul. The point of this movie is to spotlight Ben Stiller's comic genius, as well as the directing of Steve Brill. Get out more and do some exercise while you're at it...

ben stiller is a joke. nothing about that man says genius. he only gets work because of his last name. if his father wasnt famous ben stiller would be flippin burgers somewhere in arkansas or something.

I feel the same way. And the kids are all represented as outta control monsters who can't stop eating. At one point Goldberg drinks a glass of manichino cherries while Knuckle puck rubs a twinkie all over his body. Any exersice in the movie is seen as a punishment, as if these fatties are going to die because they went on hike. It's like they'd eat each other if they got the chance. Ben Stiller isn't really wrong in what he was doing those kids need some goddamn disipline. We're suppose to hate Ben Stiller but by the end of the movie the only peron I hate is myself for eating a whole bag of Doritos. I go into the bathroom and puke it up because I have no disipline either.

"A curse is upon you! You go from my sight to the eternal fire...to the eternal fire, that has been ready for you with the devil and all his angels. For when I was hungry, you didn't give me anything to eat; when I was thirsty, you didn't give me anything to drink; when I was naked and without a home, you didn't take me to your house; and when I was ill and in prison, you didn't come to my aid. Anything you did not do for one of my brothers here, however humble, you did not do for me. Go take your place in eternal punishment! But the righteous shall have everlasting life!"

Perhaps you should eat a dictionary.

hey fat kids need love too! If you are thinking in terms of health.. Tony Perkis was psycho and represented the extreme of dieting and exercise to the point that it was unhealthy. Yes they binged at their party but then they learned how to take care of themselves and be healthy on their own terms. Part of being healthy is not only eating and exercise but how you feel about yourself. By the end, they were empowered to do things they could not have done before, and did not feel bad about themselves like Tony Perkis made them. Not to mention it is a hysterical movie.

Being mean to kids will not make them listen.
They gotta have some fun they're kids for crying out loud.
I liked the movie and wouldn't have it any other way, but If I were to run a camp to help these kids i wouldn't do it that way or anyone for that matter.
Your body needs a little sugar, but for these kids they needed treats you know to make them like Tony coz you cannot work with somebody if you don't trust them or hate them or all you're thinking about is Food.

He was a bad dietician and its dangerous to diet that way and FITNESS TO THAT LEVEL IS HORRENDOUS WOOOOOOHHH Your body needs rest.
Those kids didn't understand Meditation and if they didn't like Yoga and stuff couldn't he so something they liked and he was evil too.
Thats the point of the movie.
The point is they were teased and treated badly and its a movie about building ones confidance to know that Hey we're all the same and also that someday your dreams will come true you know you will get somewhere in life no matter who you are or where your from or what you look like.

Don't they realize that they need to eat healty at the end, when that nice guy takes over the camp?

To be funny. Retard.

I'd hate to see how the OP would misinterpret a movie like Summer School. Clearly he's going nowhere fast in his post, he looks too deep into it, yet not deep enough. Clearly he missed the part where Tony told them "No lunch, no dinner, no breakfast! How's that grab you?" Or how about dragging a bunch of 11 year old boys onto a 20 mile hike with absolutely no food? Or does he really think anybody SANE would sit on a bed of spikes and have an assistant drive a sledgehammer into a block of ice on his chest? That is NOT healthy, I don't care who you are.

reply

And part of the film's brilliance is that Tony is believable caricature reflexive villian. His methods aren't tacked on just to make us destest him. It's hilarious to watch, but there's also a message embedded in there. It's also why dodgeball succeeds.

"Or does he really think anybody SANE would sit on a bed of spikes and have an assistant drive a sledgehammer into a block of ice on his chest?"

"You'll all be doing this by labor day"

you can't fight in here, this is the war room!

reply

The main purpose of this movie was to help Ben Stiller create a character worthy of Dodgeball in the next millenium.

reply

20 miles is not that far. Especially on the relativley flat terrain they were on. Its really only about 7 or 8 hours of hiking. They weren't even wearing heavy packs!

reply

"To be funny. Retard."

Yeah watching fat people eat sure is god damn funny :|...

You're dogging it dsanatan24! Dogging it!

It's a comedy first and foremost. Name some great comedies with great life lessons we should follow. If you are going to the movies, watching comedies and being disappointed by lack of moral guidance then I don't know what to say. You sound like a boring idiot.

finally someone agrees with me!!!!!

"I fear no man!!!"

The main purpose of this movie is to make you laugh. Now, if you want to take it so seriously, then that is your right to do so. I just don't believe that it is meant to be deep.
