shareYes, it was cruel. I mean, you could say he was being cruel to be kind, but he should've given it a long thought before he even approached the idea of marriage at all.
I've witnessed a few people in real life who regretted their decisions during their wedding day. All of them just went on with the ceremony and got a divorce a few days after. I still haven't witnessed something like what happened in the movie (not saying that it's not happening). My point is, in reality, we care more about saving face, and not humiliating someone in front of lots of people, and then facing all the consequences later on. I'd imagine it'd be more troublesome. But this is just a movie, so it's forgiven.
