The JFK Handshake

One of the biggest advances in film technology was when Forrest shakes hands With JFK. Today, we can see the hulk and Iron man blast through CGI cities. Back then,a handshake was a major advancement.

It was done seamlessly in both versions of "The Prisoner of Zenda", in 1937 and 1952, when Rudolf Rassendyll and King Rudolf shake hands. In both movies, the two characters were played by one actor (Ronald Colman in '37 and Stewart Granger in '52).

I'll have to check that out. That's up there with the homoculous scene in bride of Frankenstein.

But let's be honest. The handshake looks seamless and still holds up.

Whereas the CGI is marvel movies just gets worse and worse. Funny how T2 91. JP 93 and FG has better CGI than most of the crap that comes out today.

The handshake looks good, but the mouth speaking on JFK (as well as the other presidents and John Lennon) doesn't look convincing anymore.

Hedy is right - they just don't look as convincing as they did when we first saw them. They could probably clean those scenes up for very little compared to the cost of the effect back 20 years ago.
