I don't understand why this film is so hated. I really must admit that I find this film funny. Lovitz, Stern, Crystal and Palance are all great. Sure, it repeats the territory of the first one, but I reckon it's still a good, fun film. Myabe it's just my sense of humour, but no matter how many times I see this, I still find myself laughing.

Most of the internet is full of extremist crap. You wont find many people who take the time to go on some website like this just to explain how they thought a movie was pretty ok. That's why it seems like everyone adores something or detests it.
its not "hated". that's just what it seems on the internet nerds. in real life, like any sequel, its liked and loved by many but obviously not going to be as good as the original. personally I think its WAY funnier then the original, same with ghostbusters 2.

where did you figure people "hated" this movie? you'd have to be one cynical little sh** to hate this movie! imdb "reviews" don't count. its a known fact imdb people hate almost every decent movie but love mostly garbage. I met my GF and me and her brother and practically her whole family love this friggin movie lol. we actually all thought the sequel was funnier then the first.

I prefer it to the original. It's much funnier. Sure the comedy doesn't always work, but it was the same in the first one. The first one has more heart (and it's really depressing at parts). It's pacing is all over the place. The second is more comedic and more evenly paced. The first one is more unique, but I'll take funny to unique any day.
