This would've been better than the 2nd if...
Eddie Murphy hadn't tried to make a John McClane out of Axel Foley.
It had the settings of a great feel-good action comedy, unlike the 2nd one which went too action but not enough comedy.
But this time it was let down by a depressed Eddie Murphy who refused to improvise because he wanted to portray a bad ass instead of a clown. Wrong movie series for that.
He eventually got the movie he wanted - Metro, a good movie. Shame he had to ruin this one first.
