Among the many problems, the score really didn’t work.

The Axel F theme adapted for orchestra was cheesy beyond belief.

LMAO I just came on to say the same thing it sounded like a game show contestant trying to put prices on something in a timely manner Before Time expires the music like that would be playing in the background

And *I* came here to say the same thing, but you both said it better

How hard would it have been to just get some other synth-jockey to cover Faltermeyer's score? They'd have had to pay him licensing fees either way.

reply

Maybe given that it was at that point, well into the '90s, the filmmakers figured that synth-music like Harold Faltermeyer's score would've felt too much of its time.

reply

Well then thank god Joseph Kosinski and Tom Cruise didn't feel the same way about Faltermeyer's "Top Gun Anthem" (though, to be fair, the rest of soundtrack for "Top Gun: Maverick" was more conventional and less trendy)

reply

The soundtrack in general was pretty weak same with BHC 2.

reply

score aside, the soundtrack could have used a pointer sisters song like the first 2

reply

That would have been an improvement. Those ladies were talented.

Had this sequel been made for a 1990 release like Another 48 Hrs. then it would have been different.
