Beverly Hills Cop 3 the worst?

Beverly Hills Cop 1: 7,1 (15478 votes)
Beverly Hills Cop 2: 5,8 (9861 votes)
Beverly Hills Cop 3: 4,7 (6089 votes)

"Are you kidding me? Get outta here!" BH3 is such a great movie and it's being rated the worst? I can understand the 5,8 for BH2, but BH3 is at least as good as BH1! Especially the final part in Wonderland is awesome!

THIS MOVIE SHOULD'VE NEVER BEEN MADE

reply

I totally DON't agree! This part is my favorite!!!I've seen it about 5 times, makes me laugh every time! It has a lot of action and is the funniest out of three. The parts with the animals from Wonderworld are hilarious. Plus..all the parts with Billy Rosewood, gee... he is great! And don't forget Serge!
One of the funniest scenes is where Oki Doki pushes the kid in the fountain and that other kid is laughing so loud, his belly is shaking.
Really... I love this one and all the Beverly Hills Cop movies!!!!!
Eddie rulez!!!

That kid's laugh was so fake...

This one and the first one ruled! I love the part when he's saving those kids on the ferris wheel. Maybe because of the music.

It is the worst of the trology, but all three films got a very low score that should've been higher.

This movie is quite funny but oh man is it poorly made. One scene that comes to mind is when Achwel is hiding behind the park bench with the two henchmen shooting at him. He's trying to figure out the big ass weapon and stands up and then hides behind the bench a couple of times. I mean that bench isn't THAT well protecting ;)

I can't understand *beep* of this...BHC3 is better than the first one really...and has more comedy and action. It's just cuz everyone hates sequels nowadays....

reply

I like sequels, as long as they're good. I liked the first sequel, but it lost a whole lot compared to the original.

reply

THATS WHY I DONT CARE FOR THIS MOVIE BECAUSE BOGAMIL AND JOHN TAGGAR IS NOT ON IT, PLUS INSPECTOR TODD GOT MURDERED, WHAT A CRAPPY MOVIE! I LOVE THE FIRST TWO BETTER!!

reply

are you lot for real? how can any of you say that this turd is better than 1 or 2? 1 is a classic, and will always be the best. 2 was a very good sequel, lots of action, an iffy plot but it kept the film going nicely, and this one stinks to high heaven. They bring back serge and billy because most of the other actors probably read this and thought 'er ... NO' - Judge Reinhold and Bronson Pinchot must have been desperate for cash to do this, and the whole Serge character in this film was just awful. i can see why John Ashton and Ronny Cox stayed away ...

you guys are just very dumb if you think the 2nd film was worse than this, either that or you don't know how to compare a half-decent action comedy (BHC2) to a crappy action comedy (BHC3)

reply

Aseddon, I couldn't have said it better myself. BHC3 was just an awful movie. I've never seen a sequel that was as forced as this POS was. It was as if they decided to make a sequel just for the sake of making a sequel, without taking any consideration of the story itself. Where are Taggart and Bogomil?? You can't just make two central characters like that disappear without explanation. Did Taggart's wife come back again with an nymphomaniacal desire that drove him to retirement?? Did Bogomil get promoted to Secretary of Homeland Security? Sure, the scandal of running a counterfeiting ring out of a theme park is plausible, but tying it together the way they did was fairly weak. Reinhold's performance has gone a little too far over the top in this one, and throwing Serge in for the sake of reintroducing a previous character was just ridiculous. And that's the ONLY reason he's in this movie.

It's too bad, too, b/c it's mere existence brings the first two, FAR SUPERIOR films down a level, IMO. But they are still absolutely classic movies, especially the first one...

reply

My sentiments exactly.

reply

I think thae last movie was unnecessary. I loved the first and second.. but the third one? Getouttahere!

reply

BHC III is the best.

BHC II is the worst.

reply

BHC III is an alright movie it just doesn't have the same feel to it that the first two have. This movie could have easily turned into a family movie. I think the thing that it really lacks is Axel's antics. In the first two his mouth gets him out of a lot of jams. In this one it really didn't come into play. And one of the things I missed most was how Axel always scamed places to stay when he went to Beverly Hills.

reply

You're kidding right? BHC III over BHC II. You're on crack. Stop shooting up son, drugs'll kill ya.

Personally I like BHC II more than i like the original. That said, this third movie was a complete joke. One of the main reasons this movie blows is because it didn't have some of the characters that made the first 2 movies great:
-Det. Jeffrey Friedman (Paul Reiser)
-Capt./Chief Andrew Bogomil (Ronny Cox)
-Det. Sgt. John Taggart (John Ashton)

Now you can do a sequel without the first two, but damn, not without Taggart. It's him you need for the whole BHC thing to work. Speaking of which, why in gods name did they feel they needed to kill off Inspector Todd. So the sequel could work and be made? Stupidest thing they (the writers) ever did.

reply

im not your son. i dont do crack or any drugs and never have for that matter. thats your opinion, and you put it in a rude manner, so next time respect other peoples opinions before bashing them with your own.

I've had this debate even with myself, and out of the Trilogy, it's not the best of the three, for the following reasons:

1) Not enough "Axel F" music, since Harold Faltermeyer didn't return.
2) No Taggart.
3) No Andrew Bogamil.

If you don't like the movie for other reasons, those ones don't count in this discussion. I'm examining this from a strictly "Beverly Hills Cop" point of view.

Now, why it is still a great Beverly Hills Cop 3 movie:

1) In regards to #1 above, it was nice to have an updated version of the song,
as well as other variations of the track, which gave the "Axel's Back!" theme to the movie.
2) Rosewood is still as gung ho as ever, based on how seriously he takes his DDOJSIOC position. When he coordinates the takedown of the truck, that's just overkill and a 1/2!
3) Serge. Nothing makes me laugh more than "Ahkwell!!", and Axel's "Get the *beep* out of here!" "No, I cannot!"
4) The movie still has those "Axel, don't do this!" moments
5) Axel's still Axel. His character is no bit different in this movie. Eddie Murphy hasn't lost his touch.

While the movie lacks some of the elements from the previous 2, its still great.

Now,for those who think this movie sucked, if you're going to put your thoughts down, acutally provide some reasoning.

------------
Now, some honorable mention parts that make me laugh and make it a funny movie I watch over and over instead of studying for my finals:

1) "I'm a happy train...such a happy happy <<crunch>> AaAAAAHHHH!"
3) Axel controlling the dead body: "He went up there!"
4) "Ellis DeWald! Ellis DeWald! Ladies and Gentleman, it's Ellis Dewald!
Ellis Dewald!"
5) "The Jay-Gee-Jo-Jo See? What's that?"

I loved this third version no matter how many people bag it I thought it was better than the 2nd
The Ellis Dewold scene is hilarious

P>S im not sure if i posted right this is the first time i've been on here

Not only is III the worst of the franchise, it might be one of the worst movies ever made. Seriously. What a turd!

I love all 3 BHC movies, I don't have a fave or a worst. But why so many are piling the hate on BHC 3 is beyond me. I have heard people saying it is not funny....to quote Axel F 'Get the *beep* outta here' The funniest scene in this movie was after the shootout in the tunnel just after Axel was shown the Alien attack attraction he ran out of the tunnel and onto a stage where he seemed to look serious then a huge smile came across his face and began dancing not worrying he was being chased....lol priceless.

I still think Beverly Hills Cop II is the worst of the series. Beverly Hills Cop III has some good moments but it too fails to measure up to the first one.

It was nice to see Eddie Murphy relax and seem to have some fun after his angry, obnoxious performance in BHC II. The Judge Reinhold character feels like a real continuation of the character from the first film instead of the out-of-character Rambo-loving clown from BHC II.

Bronson Pinchot scenes should have been left on the cutting room floor. They serve no purpose other than to have the actor return in a cameo. A prude gay art dealer to a gun salesman? I guess the screenwriter thought it would be funny.

A nice touch was at the end of the picture - all of the good guys after film's final shoot-out are wearing casts, bandages and sitting in wheelchairs! Finally a film that pokes fun at action films whose hereos always seem to walk away from every gun battle with only the obligatory minor arm wound.

reply

The action scene at the end was so well done BHC 2 should be the worst.

reply

i liked this movie the most, cos of the action, number 1 people say is the best, none are really that bad, but there there was a lot more killing in this one, action wise a lot better, other things may vary

reply

This had better scenes then the other one like the start of movie was really good to.
