Obscure Things You've Noticed

- There's a paddle on the wall in Principal Foster's office. (Man, he's a jerk!)

- When Ricky is talking to Jordan under the bleachers on Halloween night, Jordan has a fake HAND sticking out of his shirt. For like, NO reason.

- The lady who introduces the band at Club Vertigo is told to "shut up!" by someone, as she is leaving the stage. No idea who that is, or why she is portrayed as being such a nervous person.

- When Angela is walking home from the cop car after Let's Bolt, she trips on the shoes that are not hers. When we see her turn in the street (same shot from the opening) she is wearing some flat shoes we have not seen before.

- The anti-smoking poster in the bathroom in The Zit episode gets more and more defaced as time goes on... starts out clean, then gets doodled on and finally one of the girls is labeled, "PIG".

- Rayanne once points out that the different mustards are about "sex" - and Angela says that's her father's doing. After Graham's first night seeing Hallie Lowenthal he comes home to make a sandwich and asks where the spicy mustard is.

-When Patty is hanging streamers for the Anniversary Party, you see a couple of them fall down. Then, as Patty and Angela talk, you just HEAR them falling down, that papery sound, so you get the idea that Patty has to redo the whole thing again.

I'm watching the show again from the start...something I just noticed that's big is Jordan's hair! In the first episode it's short but as soon as the second episode starts it's past his ears! IT GREW THAT LONG IN ONE DAY? That was very odd...no one elses hair changed length!

reply

The pilot was shot waaaay before the rest of the shows.

Oh it was? I didn't know that...makes sense, now that I think of it...even Brian's hair is different too, it's lighter and his curls are flatter and shorter, not as afro and light borwnish! Now I understand why! But Jordan's was way to obvious in change! Don't know why they didn't cut it back like they did with everyone elses hair!

reply

Because I'm watching the whole show again I'm looking out for the odd things!
4th episode when Pattys dad comes over...Angela comes down the stairs and hugs her grandfather and rests her head on his right shoulder facing the wall but when the dad looks over at them all jealous, her head is now on his left shoulder facing her parents LOL.

reply

Angela's bed! In the first episode when looking for Sharon's copy of Anne frank in Angela's room, she has a single bed in the corner of her room but every episode after that, Angela has a double bed in the middle of her room!

reply

In the Christmas episode I just noticed that after Jordan offers to take Ricky to the "place to crash" they take off in his car and he goes right down a One Way street the wrong way.

Twice during the season, Angela's parents talk about getting kitty litter...........we NEVER see Angela's cat LOL.

reply

The parents' bedroom changes. At least in the first episode, it had straight walls and a ceiling. But in the other episodes, it has a slanted ceiling.

reply

Baaaaaaaaaaaaa ha ha ha! I just watched "The zit" and at the end during the fashion show...Rayanne is writing her name on her name-tag and patting it on her chest? I just realised that she doesn't write her name on it...she writes "SLUT" LOL!

reply

I noticed that in the 3rd episode when Patty comes into Angela's room to talk to her about safe sex...Angela is listening to the song "Dreams" from "The cranberries" (Later on in the series Danielle says to Brian "She's in her room listening to that same slow sappy song over and over" meaning the same song "Dreams").
BUT, in the 4th episode when Angela comes outside to give her dad a soda and has to help him fix the roof, he asks her what music she's into these days and she doesn't say "The cranberries" despite that in episode 3 and around episode 9/10 she spends alot of time listening to their song "Dreams"!
Just something that always annoyed me!

reply

She doesn't mention Buffalo Tom either! But who knows if she really liked them.

It always bothered me that when the girls go to see Buffalo Tom they add in Sharon's voice saying (off-camera) "They're even cuter than on their CD!" Why add that? To show why Sharon went? To show that girls like bands with cute boys? It was weird that they bothered to add that dialogue.

reply

Yeah but it's safe to say Angela didn't like them...she only went to see Jordan and didn't even know they were playing there until she overheard that Jordan was going to see them (Which is also strange because he wasn't even watching them at the club, just playing pool)! When sharon says she likes them, both Angela and Rayanne give her "What? No you don't, no one does" look ha ha ha! Buffalo Tom didn't seem grunge enough to be what they all considered good music...so it comes off as that Angela didn't like them!

And TOTALLY agree about that odd voice over by Sharon! Did not make sense but it did sound like something a teenage girl would say and Sharons character was a bit of a superficial snob in some ways LOL. Maybe that's also why she went, I mean, how many teen girls today like Justin Beiber and One direction only because they're cute?

reply

It makes the audience think that Sharon owned Buffalo Tom's CD, which doesn't seem like something she would own.

When Ricki is telling Brian why he wears eyeliner, brian asks if he believes in evil spirits and Ricki say's "No, I'm catholic". But in the Haloween episode Ricki spends the whole time scared about getting together at midnight to mess with evil spirits???

reply

And if Ricki is Catholic, why wouldn't he believe in evil spirits anyway? Maybe he meant he didn't believe in the Egyptian ones? But still, Halloween freaked him out.

Yeah I thought that too! I've never met Catholics who don't believe in evil spirits just BECAUSE they are catholic! So, hmmmm confusing!

In episode ' weekend' rayanne handcuffs herself to angelas parents bed / headboard, but earlier in the season, the episode where Patti's dad gets audited by the IRS, the headboard is solid carved wood. Totally different bed.
