BOO HOO HOO!!! FRIENDS Creator Apologizes For The Show Being All-White

Why does everybody on TV have to be beautiful? Diversity will make its greatest strides when plain and ugly people are well represented.

The show has made quite the comeback with Gen Z. Pretty amazing! I can't recall this happening with any other sitcom... ever. I see many young people wearing "Friends" t-shirts, a show that came out before most were born. The theory being that actually sitting down and talking and interacting with friends is more preferable than texting all the time, and this is a novelty to gen Z.

To keep that money train-a- rolling, the creator plays it smart, catering to gen Z criticisms and sensibilities. Don't want to appear racist.

I would do the same.

Besides, people of all races were able to watch the show and enjoy it, the Reunion showed that. So clearly having a mostly light-skinned cast wasn’t an issue, dark-skinners were able to relate to the characters anyway.

So it's only NOW that she must atone for her sin? She is a co-creator - meaning that she sat in on creative meetings with the following (hilarious) lines of dialog:

"Very funny, Ross is gay, ha ha"

"... and there's DADDY"... (Chandler referring to his tranny dad in drag)

Chandler's Dad (to Chandler's mom) : "Aren't you a little old to wear a dress like that?"
Chandler's Mom (responding) : "Don't you have a little too much penis for a dress like that?"
