The show actually would've been better with just the 5 Friends. Not only is she a boring character, she's also the least loyal Friend.

They tried so hard to make her interesting too, giving her wacky story-lines like having her brother's triplets and giving her a twin etc...she is incredibly lucky to have landed that role because it was the rest of the cast carrying that show.

Well, I thought she was well casted. Her Smelly Cat song sequence... total comedy gold!

I THOUGHT THE SAME WHEN THE SHOW WAS ON TELEVISION...UPON REVISITING IT ON DVD...I THINK SHE WORKS WELL WITHIN THE GROUP...ITS WHEN THEY TRY TO DO "PHOEBE" EPISODES,OR STORIES THAT SHE BECOMES A LIABILITY.🙂

I agree she's the worst character but I'm glad she's there. The dynamic of the six of them works.

wow well I like her. Can't really say a show would be better without a character you dislike, because many other viewers out there will like that character as much as you like your favorites. Anyway I defintely couldn't imagine Friends without Phoebe. She brings a sense of silliness is certain situations that just works imo. Sure Joey could bring something like that too but eh.

I wouldn't remove any of the characters.

She was the most annoying character and interupted scenes too much, like Kramer did on Seinfeld except not always in a funny way.

Monica is pivotal to the show as she is Ross' sister and Rachel's best friend. Phoebe can just be lifted out with ease and the show wouldn't skip a beat.
