Queensland, Australia. I waited forever for Due South Season 1 to come out on dvd here. I bought it, watched it (tried to draw out watching the episodes so that they lasted more than a week;) and have now finished watching all of Season 1. So no more Due South for me at the moment, unfortunately. When/if Season 2 comes out on dvd here, I'll certainly be buying it.

I'm glad you enjoyed it Chalice of evil i was just thinking if you had a multi region dvd player you can buy the dvds from anywhere and watch them it wouldn't matter if they were region 1 or 2 or any other they should work. I have one and i get most of my dvds from Canada or the USA and they are region 1 where as i'm in Ireland and i'm region 2. So i wish you the very best of luck if you do go that way and get one enjoy.

reply

chalice_of_evil: can't you just buy the dvd from another country? I don't have a region free DVD player but I found a great website with codes for all dvd players to make them play any region dvds.

Whoa. I haven't posted here since 2006? Sorry for my long overdue reply to you both, vickimtubridy and cupboardie. I guess since it took me a long time before I got the last two seasons on DVD, I kind of forgot/lost touch with this board and that's why I hadn't posted in forever. I did infact manage to buy the other seasons of Due South and got to watch the show right through to the end of the series. It was like watching the show for the first time almost. Yes, there were bits and pieces I recognised when watching the eps again, but considering I had not seen eps of the show since I first saw them aired on TV, it's quite surprising that I remembered as much stuff as I did/anything at all.

While the show did have quite a few silly moments (especially towards the end there), despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed rewatching it. I was especially glad to finally get Season 3/the final season and see Callum Keith Rennie as "New Ray" (as I call him) again. I've seen him in quite a lot of stuff since Due South, but he's usually always a badguy, so it was good to go back and watch him play a good guy/the first role I ever saw him in. What I especially like is that when I think back to when I first watched the show on TV...I was saddened by the loss of Original Ray (when he left the show), and it took me a while to get used to New Ray, but then by the end of the series, I had grown to love New Ray and the friendship he developed with Fraser. They had a different dynamic between them when compared to Original Ray, but the differences were what made it fresh. In the end, while I was happy to see Original Ray back (and I enjoyed his reunion with Fraser and hated seeing him get shot), I also didn't want to see Fraser just forget about New Ray because the old Ray was back. So as conflicted as I may have been about which Ray I wanted to see Fraser hanging with at the end, it was nice that it ended up being New Ray. I won't lie, that was a very sad moment when the final episode ended (even *now* I'm saddened when watching it), but it's so good to see Fraser and New Ray (AND Diefenbaker, of course) together at the very end.

This was a great show, and I'm glad I got to rewatch it and relive the enjoyment I felt growing up by seeing it again.
