this movie is incredibly boring

This movie would be boring if one didn't allow oneself to engage in empathizing with Juliet Binoche's character. If one did, it still wouldn't be an exciting film, but rather affecting and moving in an indelible way. I saw this film when it was first released, and when I recall the tension in her face as she gently caresses the image of her daughter's casket on the television screen, well, all these years later, it still hurts to think of . . . That's moviemaking worth giving a chance to.

A renowned film critic, I think it was Roger Ebert, wrote that this is a movie made by adults for adults. If you didn't appreciate this movie, I'm going to guess that you may be too young. If you have no personal experience with profound, soul crushing loss, then you probably won't appreciate this film. If you have lived long enough to experience such loss, then this film is unforgettable.

I don't agree. But it's definitely not for everyone.. haha.

I, unfortunately, also found it painfully boring, and I just felt underwhelmed with Binoche and I didn't really relate to the plot. I did enjoy "White" more, because of its humor and the feeling that there was more substance and less eye candy. It may very well be that this movie is "over my head", but I do enjoy a lot of other cerebral and slow movies. Maybe someday I'll revisit it, but I've got a long line of other movies I want to get through first.

I totally agree with you! It is very boring. I don't feel it... I do not care for this woman and what she does. Half way through I fast forwarded it untill the end to get it quickly over with...
