Tombstone.

I took my sister and mother down last week while they were visiting, and it's comical because Tombstone is the only place in Arizona where I seem to catch crap for wearing my gun.

I don't know how to put it in words except to be honest, the Tombstone performers there seem like real AZZ wipes . They would give me snide looks and then look away really quickly especially if we made eye contact with each other. And at one point I was talking to my wife near the Crystal Saloon and there was a group of them on the side of the saloon all looking at me and talking quietly; it was pretty obvious what was going on.

What's with these people? I'd understand if maybe I was walking downtown Phoenix or Flagstaff with my weapon on my hip, but here in Tombstone I do it all the time and I never got the attitude I did there. Seemed really strange

I visited Tombstone myself recently. I thought it was a nice experience. Very educational. The people were all nice to me.

As for wearing a gun, they might have given you trouble because the entire city is considered a museum now. It's days as a place of violence and debauchery are over. Thus, their livelihood depends on the maintenance of a family-friendly atmosphere so that tourists will come and write favorable reviews. A non-performer walking around with a gun doesn't suit that goal. That could be why they were looking at you that way.

Another possibility is that you're imagining that they were looking at you snidely and talking about you. My mother always assumed that people in the laundromat were looking at her snidely and talking about her; she'd come back from the laundry every time complaining about it. Yet, most of the time (if not all of the time), nobody was looking at her snidely or talking about her.

I was there last week. I believe in open carry, and do it whenever I legally may, but you were a jackass to do so in a town the entirety of which is live theater, where people are firing blanks every five minutes. It's basically an amusement park at this point. How can an actor feel he can safely draw a weapon if you're standing there with a loaded gun?
