Jonah needs to mind his own business and stay out of his dad's love life

SPOILERS here. If you still haven't seen this, go ahead and stream it, it's worth watching once at least.

The majority of parents would tell their kid to mind their own damn business when it comes to their parent's love lives, but because of the loss of Sam's wife / Jonah's mum, i guess Sam was giving Jonah more freedom.

Jonah was way out of line with Victoria, the woman tried her best to get along with him and he did nothing but be rude, then he called her a "hoe" when talking about her to that useless radio Dr, where the hell did this kid learn that type of language? it's disgusting, and then Jonah bitches about Victoria to Sam's friends about the way that she laughs, people can't help the way that they laugh, bottom line Jonah just did not like Victoria. I don't think Sam was attracted to her, but he wanted to see where their relationship would go on the personality aspect, but we as viewers only saw her twice - once at the restaurant and then at Sam's, he took her to the airport, then we don't see her again after that scene. So i guess Sam either wasn't that into her or he was taking into consideration the fact that Jonah disliked her.

Sam meeting Annie was inevitable, Jonah would not stop, he was obsessed with Annie Reed, and when he went the final length - heading out to NY, they had no choice but to meet her when she turned up at the ESB.

A child in Jonah's situation would probably always be desperate for a mother, but would they go to THOSE lengths? I doubt it.

I do agree with you that Jonah was really rude to her. The way he thanked her for dinner, the way he spoke to her when she asked if he wanted a gift -- he should have acted better. He shouldn't have made those remarks about her laughing and her being a "ho."

Perhaps Jonah's disrespectfulness indicated that Sam wasn't doing so well as a single-parent; Sam couldn't teach his kid to be respectful to others. It's another reason he needed a woman in his life, to help with the kid.

Needs to be an after-credits sequence in which Tom is ploughing Meg in bed and we see the silhouette of Jonah enter the room and watch for several minutes.

I loathed that brat!
The main reason this movie is unrelateable and unlikeable.

However a elementary school kid is mainly the more raw, not so much lying reflection of the parents. Plus anti-authorian raising led to the Trash Millennials Catastrophic Society!
I would have smacked that kid a dozen times in those 90 minutes. The sex talk was as 🤢🤮 as a mirror reflection as Sam and Jonah are!

No babysitter else wanted to put up with... but a gothic psycho freak minding strictly TV for few dollars ignoring the screaming. There were so many aspects why Sam and Jonah were the unlikeable antagonists. A anti feel good movie portraying how bad ppl win in the end in a rotten society now.
Walter and Victoria were the way more likeable characters and got screwed over for nothing. For all Annie judged Walter under a microscope, she would have several break downs a day with the Sam & Jonah combo. The situation was utter pathetic when she gave back her engagement ring. She should have met just the spoiled nasty kid acting up again being mean to the other women there without knowing who he was and later finding out when Sam appeared. Backing totally off ending up alone for playing Walter like that like a 13 yrs old admiring far away Boyband Members.
